The cause of HYPONYCHIUM WARTS/TUMORS (periungual warts) is usually the Human papillomavirus (HPV). Development is favored by maceration and trauma, especially nail biting.

TREATMENT: most treatments are aimed at destroying the wart tissue without causing damage to the healthy tissue surrounding it.
