Ingrown nail fold is (very) common (on the big toe). Symptoms can be: discomfort (stage 1); pain, swelling & pus (stage 2); infection (stage 3); severe problems (stage 4). Causes: bad maintenance, nail trauma, injury (ill-fitting shoes), predisposition.

TREATMENT: Depending on the symptoms: warm water soaks + insertion of cotton-wick; antibiotics; surgical treatment
